They sit like that for about 2 days or so before pupating. The actual molting of the skin only takes about 10 minutes. Once the skin is off, it takes another 2-3 hours to completely morph into their new shape and change to the final color. Thanks for watching! :D

When I'm doing the filming and close-up study, I usually keep them in containers in my "lab"/studio. I also keep them outside in live host (usually in sleeves) on potted plants, or sometimes on larger stuff that's already growing in my yard.

Did you mean that you saw that same video here on YT? It wouldn't surprise me - there are a LOT of educational butterfly videos online- especially about the Monarch.
