America was once like this. We can make it like this again.

1.) Yes, because you sacrifice your own liberties by doing so.2.) Yes, because that's national security.3.) No, because it's none of our business.

such a philosophy could only exist on the premise that each and everyone of us values the life liberty and property of everyone else in the world as much as our own or those we feel we are more racially and ethnically affiliated with. while some people may claim they value all human beings equally, when we read the history books, we find that human beings do not really believe in this philosophy. the natural world is not based on equality, it is best on hierarchy. it's survival of the fittest.

most people who believe in libertarianism claim that it is ok to violate the liberty of those who violate the liberty of others. for example, you could legally walk down the street naked, smoke crack, and shove hot dogs up your ass. only when you try to shove hot dogs up other peoples asses who don't enjoy that sort of thing, would it be illegal. then you could be punished for your transgression. such a system sounds great to me, but it'll never happen.

the world never has and never will operate on these principles. principles which have been imagined to exist by foolish philosophers of the enlightenment. their is no universal value which we can all subscribe to. some people value other peoples lives, some people don't. myself, generally i would leave other people alone, but if my life or happiness was seriously in jeopardy, i would sacrifice the life of a stranger without hesitation in order to ensure my happiness and survival.

Many christians believe according to Paul's writing that we never own ourselves, we either belong to Satan, or to God. Before we know Jesus, we are owned by (unwittingly influenced by and at the mercy of) Satan, the enemy of God and his beloved mankind. Our only escape from death by sin (Satan's snare) is to believe and receive and choose to follow Jesus. We CHOOSE a different master. Some people say this implies self ownership, this ability to choose another master. What do YOU think?

This is a brilliant video, summing up a major philosophy in just 8 minutes! Thanks for posting, I really enjoyed it.

I think the constitution is the document that legalizes the government. Though, yes, it is widely considered a libertarian document. I would say it's flawed and ultimately antithetical to long term freedom. I hope that clears it up.

Yeah, of course it bothers me. My point is that the video acts as though we ask for our nations to go to war, and all we half to do is stop asking. But we all know this is not true in most cases, especially recent in history. Nobody asked our government to invade Iraq; the government decided on its own.So more needs to be done than just "stop asking" We need to kick the governments out.

And this doesn't worry you? 150 years from now? I thought the constitution was a Libertarian document? |
