yeah postpunk77 you can sample yourself.the KP3 has a couple of different inputs, stereo RCA inputs and a 1/4 inch "guitar" jack input and is switchable between mic and line level. I lose hours "jamming" with myself...That sounds bad. Sure you only have four samples available at one time (unless you mix them down), but that hardly becomes an issue when you think about the overall usefulness of this machine. One of the best mass market electronic music devices I've seen in years.

so, can you hook up a synth to this baby, play a bass line on it, and have the kaoss pad sample it?i'm looking for a sequencer, but if this can do that, then i would hve to be crazy to not get this

You can indeed "switch sample banks" but if you were using samples like the ones demonstrated, it would take around 50 - 60 seconds of load time to import a new bank of 4 samples. During this load time, no effects, sample playback or control of the unit is available. You just have to wait, and wait, and wait. The speed of the SD card is irrelivant - trust me I've tried!! So that is it: 4 samples at once is all you get. Any more is from the SD card and requires a load. Polyphony is 4 pads.

I have 2 Newmark ttx-1 turntables and a Rane 54i mixer. Can i plug the kp3 up to the turntables for effects?
