I can think of several economists of the top of my head who are both more influential than Levitt and who have highly superior diction. It doesn't matter how genius you are, people will never take you 100% seriously if you have a goofy sounding voice. Imagine how much better Levitt would sound with the diction of someone like Dan LaFontaine.

I love it when another researcher backs-up their profession by saying they are selfish. Hard for my colleagues and even teachers to put aside point of view and simply do objective research. Listen to guys like Levitt who say they do their research for fun and not to provide solutions to problems.

You obviously have never been to the middle east if you think the majority of the population want to nuke the US. Only a majority can elect a crazy pro-nuke leader in a democratic system. I grew up in Saudi Arabia, where most the 911 bombers were from and I can tell you that it is completely ignorant and untrue to assume they all want to nuke the US. This is an absurd statement and I cannot believe you got a +1 for it.
