TheRolling, "Saddam...bombed his own people, the Kurds..."Let's examine your statements. First of all, since Saddam had no air force, how was he able to "bomb" the Kurds?"The Kurds have supported responsible action by the US in Iraq." What, exactly, is "responsible action"?Why do you ascribe to the myth that "the Surge is working"? Violent incidents in Iraq have decreased because the Shite militias have stood down, pending the outcome of the US elections. The armed fighters are still there.

TheRolling, "Two million, as released by the new Iraqi government. The bodies were discovered buried in the deserts and this has been a known fact for over a decade."Only by you, evidently. The majority of the deaths among the Kurds occurred in 1988, so your assertion that the US action was to save them fails to account for the 15 years that elapsed before the US reacted.Your rhetoric is agenda-driven and not supported by any reputable facts.Your Major thesis should be an interesting read.
WolverineDeus (October 12, 2008 at 11:26 pm)
TheRolling,Where did you get your figures from? Your pronlem, like most conservatives, is that yoi insinuate rather than document in support of your allegations. The highest estimate I could find was 600,000 civilians killed by Saddam in 20 years; by comparison, in December of 1995 the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) reported 567,000 deaths of children alone due to US-backed sanctions against Iraq following the Gulf War. You seem to be inventing numbers again.
WolverineDeus (October 12, 2008 at 11:13 pm)
TheRollingWhat is the source of your figures for Iraqis supposedly killed by Saddam? Do you actually believe that the government which oversaw the kangaroo court trial and execution of Saddam is capable of producing unbiased figures? Do you have any documentation from an untainted source?
TheRolling (October 12, 2008 at 11:05 pm)
Two million, as released by the new Iraqi government. The bodies were discovered buried in the deserts and this has been a known fact for over a decade.Saddam Hussein violated every provision set forth in the treaty after the first Gulf war. He bombed his own people, the Kurds, and as a result of his overthrow the Kurds have supported responsible action by the United States in Iraq. Until the surge, opposed by many Democrats, such responsible action was not taking place.
WolverineDeus (October 12, 2008 at 10:10 pm)
TheRolling,You made a generalized statement about Iran not supported by the facts, but you learned nothing from being confronted over your sloppy hyperbole, so let's go another round:"Millions were slaughtered in Iraq by Saddam..." What is the factual basis for THIS statement? Where did you get your figure of "millions"? How many millions? 2 million? 10 million? 50 million?Or is it possible that you are just running your mouth again, and have no actual figures to support your allegations?
TheRolling (October 12, 2008 at 6:23 pm)
I'm not arguing about 1953. Why don't YOU shut up and listen.I'm quite aware of what happened in Iran, trust me. The United States did a lot of FUCK UPS, and I know that. HOWEVER.. Iran for the past 30 years has oppressed its own people. Millions were slaughtered in Iraq by Saddam Hussein, and you say we were not "justified" going into Iraq.I dare you to tell an Iraqi that. They love George Bush.
TheRolling (October 12, 2008 at 6:20 pm)
Ad hominem. Why do you choose to insult me, instead of using facts.Actually, I scored in the top 10% on the ACT. Thanks for asking.

Response to TheRolling:While I agree that abortion is not a good thing by any means, surely you do not believe that abortion has a negative impact on the ECONOMY... not all people produce more than they consume. Ever heard of welfare? Foster homes? Unemployment? Overpopulation? The U.S. would not be "better off" today with 40,000,000 extra people in it, believe me.The key, of course, is proper birth control to prevent the need for abortion. And the key to that is proper sex education. |
