when I hear Heifetz, or Milstein or Oistrakh for that matter, I get confused by choice;1) snap my violin in half and never touch it again2) practise for 20 hours a day for 20 years and pray to God that one day I have his techniqueWhat a phenomenon. Wow.

The genius of Bach, multiplied by the genius of Heifetz, - does it get any better ?

watch the video called Jascha Heifetz that aimson posted. It shows him preparing for concerts and he takes out his Guaneri. And then this partita starts and he still has his Guaneri.

Hefietz has a reputation of brilliant technique and a very diliberate/strong tone. I think a lot of people(and their musical tastes) would agree that the tempos that he chooses for the songs he plays are perfect. |
