xpoopayyx,You are correct in that Kareem Abdul Jabaar is the All-Time Leading Scorer in the NBA. In his prime, Kareem was absolutely unstoppable. I did not like the teams he played for but I sure had a lot of respect for his game. A great, great player! He is one of those New York City Playground Legends. C'mon all Rodman did was defend/rebound, if Hakeem/Robinson/Ewing/Shaq weren't focused on scoring/guarding the lane/shotblocking. their reb numbers would be a lot higher. You are ignoring the fact that there was no 3pt line in the 60s which helped Russell's reb totals vs. later eras, not to mention teams had more possessions per game due to faster pace. Russell was better than Rodman, but he'd be 5x better the defender??? Rod defended everyone from Magic to MJ, to Malone/Barkley to Shaq.

Folks seem to think the players were small in the 1960s. The following players were all 6'9" or taller. Wilt, Russell, Petit, Thurmond, Bellamy, Beatty, Big E, Kareem, Lucas, Willis Reed, Clyde Lee, Darrell Imhoff, Walter Dukes,Clyde Lovelette, Dale Schlueter, Otto Moore, Jim Fox, Rich Nieman, Connie Dierking, Walt Wesley, Leroy Ellis, Craig Raymond, Nate Bowman,Zaid Abdul Aziz, Dick Cunningham, Mel Counts, Bob Rule, Jim Davis, Jon Block, Hank Finkel, Tom Boerwinkle, Newmark, Fox

Bill Sharman, Cliff Hagan, Clyde Lovelette, Tom Heinsohn, Paul Arizin. More Hall of Fame Players from the 1960s. Name another decade when so many players from the Hall of Fame were actively playing. These lists do not even include the All Star Players that did not make the Hall of Fame such as Chet Walker, Gus Johnson, Jerry Sloan, Dick Barnett, Zelmo Beatty, Walt Hazzard etc. To say there was no competition in the 1960s is just ludicrous. It is a shame that History has been forgotten.
