I saw these guy's live at the Southport theatre in 1976.. (Alan Paul had his arm in a sling) They were truly awesome and in the middle of the show they each shared about 5 mins just to show how 'individual' they could be, each doing their own thing. amazing

"The Last Time I Saw Jeannine" is the title. I have a recording of this made in Tokyo during the 1970's.

simply class!!! I remember staying over my nan's house all those years ago in the 70s and we stayed up late to watch these amazing vocalists, TMT on telly.... amazing group

Hey ImFire, That is Jeannine (originally an instrumental by Duke Pearson, hopefully I got that right) ... one of their best vocalese performances dating waaaaay back. It's available on a couple of their albums; Bop Doo-Wopp and a live album Man-tora from 1983 (well, at least that's when the performance was :) They also do it on a video that is long out of print when they performed at the Park West in Chicago in 1980. It was featured in a PBS Soundstage program back then. |
